Thanks to all who came to class this morning. Our study on the Book of Acts covered "The Deacons of the Church"; the first people delegated by the Apostles to handle some of the other business of the church besides that which the Apostles were chosen to perform. Stephen was the central character, and his story illustrates what I like to call the "Valley of Death" factor. We all have these valleys, and once you've given your life over to God, you'll either live through it or you won't. But if you don't, you will wake up in God's presence. Jim Sandridge will lead us next Sunday with the chapter, "The Gospel Begins to Spread Beyond Jerusalem". Read up on Acts Chapter 8:4-40.
Speaking of somebody teaching, WE HAVE SOME VOLUNTEERS!!! But we can always use more. Let us know when would be a good Sunday for YOU to teach and we'll put your name right on the list.
ALSO, we passed the list around for Tables of Eight; an opportunity for you to dine with and get to know some randomly-picked classmates. We will pass the list around again this next Sunday, in case you missed your chance. Then we'll pick. Then we'll eat.
