Sunday June 27, 2010

Thanks to everyone who came to class this morning. And thanks to Ruthann Landis for leading us in the finale of "The Restoration of a Sinner: David's Sins Revealed". We learned to be grateful always, and that we do not exist because of anything WE did. Instead, all the credit, thanks and glory goes to God.

We will not have class next Sunday (7/4), and the following Sunday (7/11) we will have our customary "between series eating extravaganza". Tentatively, it will be held at Rudy's Barbecue on the way to Denton. Social Empress Kaye will let us know the definites soon. Then, when we return to class 7/18, we'll start a new series based on the book Fearless by Max Lucado. These books were handed out in class this morning, but there will be spares in the classroom in case you didn't get one. The books cost $12. Thanks to Lou for getting the books for us.

Kim Beck visited our class this morning and brought a guest from the Gainesville Boys Home, Floyd Black. Floyd's been out since February - after serving 3 1/2 years - and will start attending college in Athens, TX this August, where he'll also be playing football. Floyd said he'd then like to play football at The University of Texas. Floyd sure seemed happy to be continuing on with his life, and we certainly wish him the best.

Until next time, remember that we are all blessed and watched over.
