Sunday 6-28-09

Hi, everybody.

Today's class was something special. We pushed the study on the book of James back a week so we could focus on what we as a class will do for Dana. We talked about Dana's strength, both mentally and spiritually. And we talked about Walt. There was a lot to smile about, and the room was often filled with laughter - especially when someone from another classroom came in at around 11:40 to let us know that Walt had died. It was a concensus in the room that she probably thought we were the wierdest class at Trietsch. We focused the class on taking care of Dana's needs. So far:
  • Lee Greer will provide lunches for Dana each day.
  • Lora Binder will shop for paper goods and other staples.
  • Ellen Greer will help Dana with legal issues.
  • Keith will help Dana with funeral-related issues.
  • Robin Doak will serve as class liason so Dana won't be fielding 20 calls a day.
  • If necessary, Keith and Lee will bring Walt's car back up from Falls County.

There will, most assuredly, be more stuff to add to this list, so check the blog, your e-mail, and Facebook often.

Memorial Service is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday. Dana requested that Keith Long conduct the service, and that Families of Faith act as honorary pall bearers.

Robin and I will be visiting Dana this evening, so we'll find out about lawn care needs, how to get ahold of Cowboy, etc.

Keep the prayers for Dana and the happy thoughts for Walt going.

Stubie...
