Thanks to everyone who came to class for another episode of the Book of James. This week's lesson was about playing favorites and showing mercy on everyone equally - regardless of their station in life. We all pretty much agreed that was a good way to go. I'm just hopeful that everyone got the benefit from the lesson that the author desired considering the teacher was...well, me. Angie Wagoner will teach Lesson 6 Sunday the 26th.
The ladies are planning a get-together this Friday evening at Rockfish in The Shops in Highland Village. Be there at 6:30 - PM, not AM. It's a short one. The men, on the other hand, will spend the evening as we usually do - trying to fend off the shakes because our women are gone, and anticipating our next opportunity to shave.

Current Prayer List (updated 08/19/2012
- Prayers for Gail Goodrich's parent who are now in assisted living. Prayers for the whole family.
- Prayers for Ellen's mom. She cannot walk and she wants to go home...but obviously can't.
- Prayers for Lee's dad. His cancer is back.
- Everyone involved with next weekend's Emmaus Walk.
- Wendy's cousin, Tim Pfeiffer, has bile duct cancer. It is terminal, but he still fights on.s test results. Kidney functions are good.
- Jim Adams - church member, choir member - went in for a stint, wound up with a quintuple bypass.
- Curt is finishing cleaning out the Arlington home, and it's very emotional for him and his kids.
Volunteer Teaching
- We will be beginning a new study on October 7 that the entire church will be involved in. Think now if you'd like to volunteer to lead one of the Sunday classes in this new study. If you decide "yes, I would like to do that very thing", contact George Gump.
